Why we exist

If you've ever tried to hire a lawyer in Brazil from abroad, you know the pattern. Emails answered a week later, or never. A fee that starts as one number and becomes another. Documents in Portuguese you're told to "just sign." A case that disappears into a cartório or a consulate for months with no word on why.

None of that is the law's fault. Brazilian legal procedure is bureaucratic, but it is knowable — the timelines, the documents, the costs are all predictable to someone who does this work every week. The problem has been the service model, not the system.

So we built the firm around the three things foreign clients actually ask for: a fixed price before work starts, a reply within one business day, and every document explained in English before it's signed. That's the whole philosophy. It's not complicated. It just hasn't been the standard here.

Who does the work

Your case is handled by OAB-licensed Brazilian attorneys — the bar admission required to practice law in Brazil — working in English, with experience across immigration, real estate, corporate, family, and probate matters for foreign clients. Depending on what your case needs, the team brings in sworn translators (tradutores juramentados), notaries, and accountants under the same engagement, so you never have to assemble your own roster of Brazilian professionals.

We work with clients in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia, and most engagements run fully remote: video calls for strategy, power of attorney for execution, and written updates at every milestone.

How we're different, concretely

• Flat fees, agreed in writing, before any work begins. If the scope changes, the fee changes only with your written approval — never retroactively.
• One business day response time, on every message, for the life of the engagement. If the honest answer is "the consulate hasn't moved," you'll hear that rather than silence.
• English isn't an accommodation, it's the working language. Engagement letters, status updates, and document explanations all arrive in English by default.
• One engagement for the whole problem. A property purchase that needs a CPF, a tax registration, and a sworn translation is still one scope and one fee — not three referrals.

What we won't do

We won't quote a fee before understanding the case, promise a government timeline we don't control, or tell you a weak case is strong because it's easier to sign you. If your situation doesn't need a lawyer — and some don't — we'll say so and point you to the right guide instead.
